INDIA DECIDES

The recent verdict by the people of India for the 15th Loksabha elections bemused many polictial analysts and the mainstream Politicians. It has thrown a lime light on the decision made by them on the economic situation ( especially Job losses and Inflation ) nationally and globally. Being the largest elctorate in the world of around 40 crore less than 40 yrs , voters across the nation have shown a matured choice against the Communism and Communalism.

The battle to make the magic number 272 in Sansad has begun with three ( even four) alliances with their Prime Ministerial candidates being extremely influential in thier respective domains.

UPA: The United Progressive Alliance constituting mainly of INC,DMK Tamil Nadu ,UDF Kerala and many other regional parties unanimously agreed Dr.Manmohan Singh as thier Prime Ministerial Candidate. Also the Rahul Gandhi Factor played a mojor role in attracting the youth of Uttar Pradesh , Andhra Pradesh ( Y.S.Jagan S/o Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy the current CM ) and many states ,from where it grabbed a major share of votes. The middle class trusted in the virtues and profile of Dr.Manmohan Singh and i think unanimously voted for UPA for the economic stability. Recession and avg age of the Congress Party including the current Parliamentarians have played a major role in these elections.

NDA: National democratic Alliance led by BJP claimed as a redoubtable opponent for UPA faced an ignominous defeat ever seen in the past 2 decades. Major factor for its defeat being the absence of Atal Bihari Vajpayee the face of BJP since 1984. The cold war between L.K.Advani and Manmohan singh could be a triffle factor for BJP's defeat. Also the poor performance of Yediyurappa in Karnataka since the last year state assembly elections again made the ground lose in South India. I sincerely admire the idea of L.K Advani of bringing back the Black money fiddling in the Swiss Bank accounts and using it for development projects. I think BJP could have taken an extra mile in making this a big election issue and grabbing votes. Also, the Kandahal issue and losing the support of BJD made BJP a Villain in the state of Orissa and Naveen Patnaik a Hero.

Third Front : So called Third Front - formed by the majority of allainace partners from UPA and NDA ;led by BSP chief Mayawathi and the least Left, Deve Gowda's JDU etc . The verdict of people for Third Front is as expected i.e., Swept Out . Even Laloo Prasad fence sitter for UPA and Third Front lost in one of the 2 constituencies. Chandra Babu Naidu with his Cash For Transfer scheme attracted a huge amount of electorate , ofcourse in the assembly elections and not at the Centre. People of Andhra Pradesh have voted intelligently for development and wiped out caste cards played by PRP and the CTS scheme by TDP.

On the whole , the LEFT were left out as expected in both its home towns Kerala and West bengal .Markets welcomed UPA with all smiles. People like Sachin Pilot, Jyothiraditya Scindia , Agatha Sangma (28) and few other < 40 figures including Meera Kumar the speaker , trying hard to make their presence felt in the Lok Sabha. Also, in BJP as expected a big fight for the successor has taken its way. Hope fully, this verdict of India gives a chance for the stable govt to take more independent decisions thus leading to the economic and political stability of the Nation.

  1. That was a sheer gist of the whole elections! Though there were as many as odds BJP faced in 2004, UPA also did in 2009 but the only big difference is there is no (clear) opposition party strong enough to captivate the people only due to plethora of internal crisis they were into like in BJP , other allies . That made UPA stronger than ever and everyone thus welcomed them ...as of today I think the crisis is deepening which is a bad sign for its recovery from the election blow where a daily cartoon humpty dumpty allegations are thrown at ... But under the given conditions I think the earlier Govt retake of the power was commendable otherwise, shift of power would have brought in more woes to our country ...

A very well poised writing Sravan ...keep e'm coming ...
